2017 Mazda CX-5 release date Canada
When it comes to the all-new Mazda CX-5, one thing is for certain, people are excited. The world has been patiently awaiting the arrival of the newly redesigned vehicle, and for North America, and more specifically Canada, that wait might be coming to an end. Find out more with our 2017 Mazda CX-5 release date information for Canada.
Will the Mazda CX-5 release date be different for Canada?
The Mazda release date for Canada tends to lag behind the U.S. only due to shipping times, but for the most part you can expect to find the 2017 Mazda CX-5 on sale about the same time as it goes on sale in America. When will that be? That’s the big question, but Mazda has provided us a few clues.
Mazda stated in a recent press release that the 2017 Mazda CX-5 will go on sale in Japan this February with “global markets to follow.” This is a bit of a vague statement, but we can work from it. Currently the Mazda CX-5 is only being produced overseas, and all examples in Canada – and the United States for that matter – are imported.
Shipping from Japan to the U.S. can take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, with road and rail transport adding a few more days onto the journey. At the earliest, we can expect the 2017 Mazda CX-5 to arrive in Canada sometime in March.
If however, Mazda sees high demand for the newest Mazda CX-5 in Japan they may stagger the launch date further just to make sure there are enough cars to go around. Therefore, spring or early summer is a safe bet for the arrival of the Mazda CX-5 in Canada.
Highlights for the 2017 Mazda CX-5
For 2017, Mazda has pulled out all the stops on their most popular crossover. Everything has been rethought and reimagined. Much of the same style that made the Mazda CX-5 so popular remains intact, both inside and out, but the exterior lines are even more aggressive and stylized, and the interior more refined.
Also a big change this year will be the option for a diesel powerplant. This engine option will not be available at launch but shortly thereafter. We have all the details on it in another blog post.
