Why did Mazda do a mid-year release for the Mazda6 (2017.5)?
By Product Expert | Posted in Mazda6 on Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 at 12:00 amThe conventional release protocol for automakers is to release a model once per year with the naming structure using the following calendar year for which it is released. However, Mazda is one of the rare automakers to do mid-year releases, which is the case with the 2017.5 Mazda6.
Mazda gave the Mazda6 a mid-year release because after releasing the 2017 model, they added some new features across the trim lineup. This includes the newly standard Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert for the Sport trim, and for the Touring Package — optional 8-way power driver’s seat and leather seats. Also, the 2017.5 Mazda6 received improved sound installation for a quieter ride. With all of these new features and the unchanged price from the 2017 model, the Mazda6 becomes an even bigger value choice for the midsize sedan segment.
