OVERVIEW
|
2007 Mazda B-Series
At Mazda, we believe vehicles with cabs and cargo beds should provide more than simply practical hardworking transportation. Which is why Mazda B-Series trucks are also engineered to deliver agile handling and exhilarating performance. At work or at play. On the road or off. Flying solo or with friends. These trucks bring you a driving experience like no other.
Mazda B-Series trucks pack power and style enough for any purpose. The Mazda B4000’s 4.0-litre V6 delivers a potent 207-hp. The B3000’s 3.0-litre V6 pumps out an impressive 148-hp. And the B2300’s 2.3-litre 4-cylinder serves up a spirited 143-hp. Pick a Regular Cab or Cab Plus (featuring "Freestyle" doors) – it all depends on what you’re loading up, where you’re heading and how many of the crew you’re taking along. Want all-terrain capability? Step up to the B4000 Cab Plus with (up to 72 km/h) shift-on-the-fly 4-wheel drive and nearly 8-inches of ground clearance. Whether you’re going off-road or running off to the mall, you’ll like what our rugged B-Series trucks continually bring to the table. |

Model Lineup |
The 2007 Mazda B-Series truck lineup features three engine choices, two transmissions, 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains, and two body styles. Whatever your preference, you can explore the great outdoors in high style.
The 2007 B-Series truck is available in the following models:
B2300 4x2 Regular Cab 2.3L SX
B3000 4x2 Cab Plus 3.0L Dual Sport (DS)
B4000 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L Dual Sport (DS)
B4000 4x4 Cab Plus 4.0L SE
B2300 4x2 Regular Cab SX
The value-packed B2300 boasts a responsive, yet fuel efficient, 2.3L powerplant with 143 horsepower and 154 lb-ft of torque. Its aluminum-alloy engine block is lightweight, contributing to a greater power-to-weight ratio and excellent fuel economy. The B2300 comes only as a 4x2 Regular Cab (SX).
B3000 4x2 Cab Plus Dual Sport (DS)
The B3000 Dual Sport Cab Plus serves up a spirited, 3.0L V6 that churns out 148-horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The B3000 comes only as a 4x2 Cab Plus Dual Sport (DS).
B4000 4x2 Cab Plus Dual Sport (DS) and B4000 4x4 Cab Plus SE
B4000 models feature a 207-horsepower, SOHC V6 engine and are available in either 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive. 4-wheel drive models feature an electronic shift transfer case axle system. The 4-wheel drive system can be quickly and quietly engaged with no need to stop or back up. It also improves fuel economy in two-wheel-drive mode and reduces maintenance requirements. The B4000 comes as a 4x2 Cab Plus Dual Sport (DS) or a 4x4 Cab Plus 4-door (SE).
Dual Sport
The Dual Sport models are 4x2s that give you the lifted look of a 4x4, without the extra weight of the 4WD mechanicals. The Dual Sport 4x2 models feature body-coloured front and rear bumpers, fender flares, grille surround and lower front fascia, as well as a raised suspension for the look and ground clearance of a 4x4. 15-inch alloy wheels with 235 tires are also included. The Dual Sport is available in a four-door extended cab configuration.
4x2 Models
4x2 models are available with 2.3L I4, 3.0L V6 and 4.0L V6 engines, in Regular Cab and Cab Plus (with 4-doors) body styles, and in SX and Dual Sport trim levels.

Exterior |
The B-Series truck’s aerodynamic exterior styling projects an image that is both sleek and aggressive. Its sporty, assertive appearance allows it to stand out in the crowd, both on-road and off, while portraying an attitude that is pure Mazda.
- 4x2 models sport 15-inch wheels (alloy on Cab Plus models), while 4x4 models ride on 16-inch alloy wheels; Cab Plus models get a “lifted” look and wider all-terrain tires for a more rugged appearance.
- The monochromatic appearance on Cab Plus models lends a feeling of sculpted continuity, while fender flares with integrated mud flaps offer added protection.
- Front fog lights aid visibility in poor weather conditions (standard on Cab Plus models).
- Two front tow hooks (4x4 only), a removable tailgate and cargo box tie down hooks provide useful functionality; a trailer tow wiring harness allows easy electrical hook-ups for towing.
- Deep-tinted privacy glass and a sliding rear window keep contents out of sight and provide relief from the summer heat.
|
| Distinctive Design |
The B-Series truck's rugged good looks echo its rugged performance. The body is perched confidently over the large, stylish wheels. A wide stance helps give the B-Series stability as well as a powerful look. And, true to Mazda's sports-car heritage, the B-Series design adds sporty touches, with sleek lines and rounded corners, and sculpted contours on both front and rear fenders..

Interior |
The cab of the B-Series reflects Mazda’s attitude that trucks should never sacrifice on comfort, with stylish materials and ample storage throughout.
Cab Plus models are especially spacious and comfortable, with 4 doors and rear jump seats for additional flexibility.
Controls are intuitive and easy to reach, and available cruise control and air conditioning add to the creature comforts.
A standard MP3 compatible CD player provides quality sound entertainment for your driving pleasure. |
| Comfort |
At Mazda, we believe pickup trucks should never sacrifice on comfort. We’ve thought of many ways to keep you and your passengers comfortable, including:
- All B-Series trucks are outfitted with a supportive, well-contoured 60/40-split bench seat, including a centre armrest with storage. Cab Plus models offer quick access to a cargo area big enough to hold luggage and offer the additional convenience of side-facing fold-down rear jump seats. Front sport bucket seats with a floor console and armrest are available on 4x4 models.
- Front consolette includes dual cupholders.
- Standard audio in the B-Series truck is an AM/FM/MP3 stereo with CD player and four speakers, providing quality sound for your drive.
- Available CFC-free air conditioning is both passenger- and environment-friendly (standard on 4.0L models).
- Power package adds power conveniences such as cruise control, tilt steering, power mirrors, windows and door locks with keyless entry (standard on 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS models, available on 4x2 Cab Plus 3.0L DS, and included in the SE Plus Package on 4x4 models).
|
|
| Cargo |
B-Series trucks share these convenient and functional cargo features:
- Double-wall cargo bed – Double wall construction adds durability and helps prevent cargo box dings and dents from surfacing on the outer sheet metal.
- Two-tier loading – provides more versatile cargo handling
- Cargo box tie-down hooks – provide attachment points for securing large loads
- Crank-up/down spare tire carrier with spare tire lock – enhances storage space by moving spare tire to underside of cargo bed. Includes spare tire lock to prevent theft
- Trailer towing harness – allows easy trailer electrical hook-ups for towing
|
|
| Stereo |
Nothing beats the pure fun of driving when crisp blue skies stream by and your favourite tunes are pounding away inside the cabin. An AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with four speakers is standard on all models.

Performance |
The B-Series is Mazda’s sport-oriented truck, with stellar handling and performance. A smooth, powerful drivetrain and agile suspension components make the B-Series an exhilarating drive, feeling more like a sports car than a truck. A smooth-shifting 5-speed automatic transmission is available for a more leisurely driving experience.
Three engines are available in the B-Series truck:
- The entry-level B2300 4x2 Regular Cab 2.3L SX is equipped with Mazda’s 2.3L engine, producing an ample 143 hp.
- B3000 4x2 Cab Plus 3.0L DS models are equipped with a capable, economic 3.0L V6 engine developing 148 hp.
- Maximum power is offered in the B4000 4x2 and 4x4 Cab Plus 4.0L models, with a 4.0L SOHC V6 engine with 207 hp.
Other highlights include:
- All engines use cam chains instead of belts, and therefore need no scheduled replacements.
- All B-Series models (with the exception of 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS models) are equipped with a standard 5-speed manual transmission that features carbon-fibre-lined synchronizer blocker rings for smoother, better shifting.
- An available 5-speed electronic automatic transmission with overdrive provides seamless shifting for a more relaxing drive (standard on B4000 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS models, available on all other models).
- Power rack and pinion steering keeps the B-Series truck easy to manoeuvre both on the highway and in the close confines of parking lots.
- Exceptional handling is attributed to a double wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar and coil springs, allowing each front wheel to step over road imperfections with minimal effect on the opposite wheel. Dual Sport and 4x4 models are equipped with torsion bars, helping provide excellent ride and handling on tough terrain.
- 4x4 models feature steel fuel tank and transfer case skid plates for added protection while off-roading, as well as a tough limited-slip rear differential (standard on all 3.0L and 4.0L models) with generous ground clearance.
|
| Engine |
|
The B2300, B3000 and B4000 are designated by engine size.
- The entry-level B2300 is equipped with Mazda’s 2.3L engine which puts out 143 horsepower. The B2300 4 cylinder engine develops 154 lb-ft of torque at 3750 rpm.
- The smooth, capable and economic 3.0L V6 in the 148-hp B3000 models develops 180 lb-ft of torque at 3950 rpm.
- Maximum power is offered in Mazda’s B4000 from its 207 horsepower, 4.0L SOHC, V6 engine. B4000 models are available in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive versions. The B4000 powerful V6, 207 hp engine develops 238 lb-ft of torque at a low 3000 rpm.
|
| Transmission |
|
Each B-Series engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission (standard on all but the B4000 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS). This transmission features carbon-fibre-lined synchronizer blocker rings for smoother shifting and enhanced driver control, as well as a lockout feature that prevents the driver from accidentally shifting into reverse.
Mazda also offers a 5-speed electronic automatic transmission on every model in the B-Series lineup (standard on the B4000 4x2 Cab Plus 4.0L DS). This silky-shifting automatic provides a wide range of gear ratios to deliver optimal performance, especially when climbing grades or under load. It also features a lockup torque converter and an overdrive on/off switch.
|
| Suspension |
|
The B-Series truck is built on a rugged platform, with ladder-frame construction and fully boxed frame rails. A fully-independent double wishbone front suspension (standard on 4x4 and Dual Sport models) keeps the front wheels optimally aligned for superior handling stability and ride comfort, allowing each wheel to step over road imperfections with minimal effect on the opposite wheel. A front stabilizer bar is also standard for enhanced control.
The semi-floating live rear axle assembly features rugged, variable rate multi-leaf springs designed to provide improved ride quality and increase load carrying capacity. This is further enhanced by heavy-duty gas-filled shock absorbers, both in the front and in the rear.
|
| Safety |
|
Numerous safety features are built into the B-Series trucks to provide both driver and passengers with additional peace of mind. Its ladder-frame construction, with fully boxed frame rails and side intrusion beams, produces a sturdy and rugged platform. These features, along with dual front airbags and a 4-wheel anti-lock braking system, combine to form a comprehensive safety package.
- Side impact protection intrusion beams in each door help protect occupants in the event of a side impact collision.
- Front “crumple zones” help absorb crash energy by progressively collapsing during a collision to enhance occupant protection.
- Driver’s and passenger’s front dual airbag system includes a passenger side deactivation switch, allowing the passenger side airbag to be turned off when carrying a child safety seat.
- Front safety belts have shoulder belt height adjustment for a more effective fit and support in the event of a collision.
- Available fog lamps (standard on Dual Sport and 4x4 models) provide additional visibility in poor weather conditions.
- A 4-wheel anti-lock braking system provides extra reassurance and control.
